FryApp Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 9, 2026
FryApp ("we", "us", or "our") is a french fry measuring app. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used.
1. Data You Provide
- Account information — email address and password, or your Apple/Google account identifier if you sign in with those services.
- Username and avatar — a display name and optional profile photo you choose.
- Fry measurements — the length of fries you measure, optional notes, star ratings, and restaurant tags you add.
- Leaderboard photos — photos you submit when entering the global leaderboard. These photos are publicly visible to other users.
2. Data Collected Automatically
- Camera — used on-device for augmented reality measurement and to take leaderboard photos. The live camera feed is not recorded or transmitted without your action.
- Microphone — ARKit (Apple's AR framework) requests microphone access as part of its initialization. FryApp does not record or process audio.
- Photo library — accessed only when you choose to set a profile avatar or select a photo from your library.
- Push notifications — if you grant permission, we send notifications when your leaderboard ranking changes. You can disable these in iOS Settings at any time.
- Purchase information — if you purchase FryApp Elite, transaction data is processed by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of your entitlement but do not store your payment details.
- Anonymous attribution — with your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, we use anonymous purchase attribution data to understand how users discover the app. No personal data or browsing history is shared with advertisers. You can decline this permission without affecting app functionality.
3. AI Image Analysis
When you submit a photo to the leaderboard, it is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for verification. Claude analyzes the image to confirm a french fry and reference object are present and to independently measure the fry's length. Anthropic's use of this data is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We do not submit photos to the leaderboard without your explicit action.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To operate the leaderboard and display your ranking to other users
- To verify leaderboard submissions and detect duplicate or manipulated photos
- To send push notifications about your leaderboard position
- To process and verify your in-app purchase
- To display your username, avatar, and measurement history within the app
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, solely to operate the app:
- Supabase — database and file storage (supabase.com)
- Anthropic — AI image analysis for leaderboard submissions (anthropic.com)
- RevenueCat — in-app purchase management (revenuecat.com)
- Expo — push notification delivery (expo.dev)
6. User-Generated Content
Leaderboard photos and usernames are publicly visible. You can report content you believe is inappropriate or fraudulent by long-pressing any leaderboard entry. We review reports and may remove content that violates our guidelines.
7. Data Retention
Your account data and measurements are retained until you delete your account. Leaderboard photos are retained for the duration of the leaderboard period. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at the email below.
8. Children's Privacy
FryApp is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. You can also delete your account directly within the app.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
